Over
90 years ago, Joseph H. Pilates developed a technique originally
termed “Contrology”. Pilates’ method
combined his studies of eastern and western philosophies
of health. He designed more than 500 exercises that emphasized
breathing and core strength to develop a perfectly functioning
body. When the deep abdominal muscles become strong,
they provide the support required to train strength and
flexibility throughout the entire musculature. Pilates
gives us the opportunity to deepen our self awareness
and evolve to a higher level of physical and mental health.
