Balanced Body University (BBU) and Body Evolve- Teacher Training FAQs

What programs are included in the BBU Pilates Teacher Training at Body Evolve?
We offer Mat, Reformer, and Comprehensive (includes Mat, Reformer, Trapeze Table, Chair, and Barrels) Teacher Training programs. See the BBU website for details http://bbu.pilates.com/instructor-training/pilates-teacher-training.html. We also offer workshops on the EXO Chair and Pilates Arc.

What is required to complete a BBU Pilates Teacher Training program?
You must complete all prerequisites, modules, log hours (observation, self practice, and student teaching), and pass the written and practical exam associated with your program. See the BBU website for details http://bbu.pilates.com/instructor-training/pilates-teacher-training.html.

Do I need a lot of Pilates experience before I begin this program?
As these are teacher training programs, there is a minimum of 20 mat sessions required prior to Mat 1, and a minimum of 30 reformer sessions required prior to Reformer 1.

Do previous private and group Pilates sessions count toward my log hours?
Yes. It is, however, highly recommended that you continue to be a student of Pilates during and after your teacher training program.

How long does it take to become a BBU Comprehensive Pilates Instructor?
The time required varies. A comprehensive program may take as little as 9 months or as much as 2 years (after the prerequisites are satisfied).

What documentation do I receive after each module?
After each module, BBU will send you a Certificate of Completion – stating you have participated in the module-- this is NOT a certification. See the BBU website for details http://bbu.pilates.com

Do I have to complete all log hours at Body Evolve?
It is not required, but we highly recommend that you do some of your log hours at Body Evolve. You may complete your log hours at another studio if approved by Body Evolve and the other studio owner/manager.

If I started my training with another organization and would like to complete the BBU program instead, will my previous coursework count?
BBU has a Bridge program that is designed to address this specific need. See the BBU website or contact BBU for details http://bbu.pilates.com/bbubridge/bbubridge.aspx.

If I am coming from out of town, where can I stay?
Please contact Body Evolve for a list of nearby hotels.

Will Body Evolve teach BBU courses at my facility?
Yes, please call us for details.
